Challenges and Objectives

Énergir wanted to have greater control over the operating costs of the distribution center, while maintaining a high quality of service towards the internal customers, such as the assemblers, and by ensuring the security of its stock distribution network. The company wanted to redefine the operating conditions of its distribution center, including expansion.

In addition to increasing storage capacity and centralizing its activities, Énergir wanted to improve the:

  • Operational efficiency of the workforce;
  • Security related to the storage of materials, and the movement of equipment and employees;
  • Inventory control and management.

Createch’s Intervention

To review some of the key milestones of its expansion project, Énergir turned to the Createch experts, who shared their local experience with Énergir, including best practices in distribution center layout. Createch consultants allowed the company to validate:

  • the process of establishing the operational requirements and the space required to ensure the efficiency of the distribution services of future stocks;
  • the choice of storage equipment;
  • good practices regarding planning.

Createch supported Énergir in the validation of the expansion plan, as well as in the positioning of products according to their frequency of use. In general, travel times and order preparation are reduced and the risk of injury is minimized. In addition, the support of Createch consultants to Énergir's team was a factor of success.
